CLUB UPDATE

18/04/2024

Dear parents and carers

You may be aware of a child protection issue at another local youth football club that was highlighted on social media earlier this week. At Inverekithing United FC we take the wellbeing and saftey of our young people seriously at all times.

I wanted to take this opportunity to reassure all parents and carers that all of our committee, coaches and volunteers are all checked and regulated under the Scottish Youth FA and Disclosure Scotland PVG scheme.

As a community club we are accredited by both Fife Council (ClubFife) and The Scottish FA (Quality Mark) accreditation schemes who have very high standards in relation to child protection.

OurAppointment Procedure

All new volunteers and staff new to Inverkeithing United FC who carry out regulated work with children will:

1. Meet with the Head Coach and a member of the Inverkeithing United FC Committee as appropriate.

2. Complete an application form.

3. Provide 2 referees that will be checked and accepted by the club.

4. Complete a Self-Declaration form.

5. Sign the Fair Processing Notice form.

6. Complete a satisfactory PVG Scheme Record or Scheme Record Update.

7. Sign up to the Code of Conduct for Safeguarding Children’s Wellbeing annually.
